When L's Become W's | II Cor 12:9

"Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me."     - II Cor 12:9

My alarm blared at 7:00 AM. I went through my normal morning routine, quite tired and it was only my 2nd day into finals. I drove what seemed like forever to school, parked and stepped out of my car. As I usually do, I stepped over to the other side of my car expecting to grab my bookbag, jacket, and tea.

There. Was. Nothing. There.

*Thinks to self: Nope. Nope. Nope. This cannot be happening.* That bookbag contained 3 essential items: my wallet, my computer, and study materials for a final that was approaching in less than 2 hours. *Maybe drive back home? nope. I'll never make it through traffic.*

1. Would you believe that as I was approaching the building, the school's Technology Services guru was coming out of the door? I literally ran to him and begged to borrow a computer from the school. "Sure, we'll just need to get your license or ID." *insert face palm* Again, no license, no ID. Quite frankly, all I had was my phone and keys. He arranged for my car keys to serve as collateral and I walked away with a computer to study with AND to take my exam on.

2. I sit down. Flustered. Annoyed with myself. I hate to admit it... but even anxious. *Great!!! I have a computer but still not a single thing to study from* Would y'all believe that I found the completed study guide for my final in my email inbox all thanks to a collaboration with a classmate? We had completed the guide together the previous week and there it was.. just waiting for me. #GodIsClutch

3. 10 AM rolls around and I nervously head into my final – ready to accept whatever grade pops up on my screen. Welp... that grade that popped up was an A. Me... the person who had just had an awful, stressful morning. An A. A whole, entire A.

Each step of the way, God held my hand and led me towards the next step. This post, that grade of an A, that entireeeee day is ALL to the Glory of God. Like 2 Corinthians 12:9, I am GLAD to boast in my weaknesses. In moments were I feel like I've taken massive and traumatic Ls (losses), God ALWAYS turns them to Ws (wins). I won't concern myself with the hows and the whys.

If you're currently in a valley, a place where you feel like absolutely nothing is working out, please know God is still in control. The same way He worked EVERYTHING out for me is the same way He can alter your situation and circumstances for the better. As 2018 creeps up on us, I encourage you (and myself) to remember God's faithfulness over 2017. Remember to keep Him first in all things!

Cheers to a great 2017 and an even better New Year!

Sit Down, Be Humble | James 4:10

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." --- James 4:10

As I type this out on my phone, my clock reminds me that it's currently 2:06 am. 3 words. I. Am. Grateful. I lay here reminiscing about the faithfulness of God over my life and I really can't help but be humbled by His works.

Quite too often, our walks with Christ can become too cyclical. We see a need in our lives and beggggggg God to make a way. We receive said need, thank God for a quick second, and proceed to live our lives. More often than not, we become fixated on the gift instead of the Giver. What would a life that constantly assesses its relationship with God look like? How do we remain steadfast even AFTER being given exactly what we prayed for?

Freedom. Peace. Joy. Strength. Humility.

I recognize that no single blessing I've received could have been earned on my own. Not even the tiniest one. Nursing school has been everything they said it'd be.. more to come on that lol. It literally takes me sitting down several times a day to assess how I made it through the day WITH my sanity in tact.. definitely not in my own strength.

Pride will tell you that "I got it" and "I'm good" but relying upon God truly goes a long way. In humbling yourself before the Lord, He does all the heavy lifting. The heights you never dreamt of reaching become the footstool for your next faith-inspired idea – but only when Christ lifts you up. Even if it's just for a few minutes out of each day, thank God for everything- the good, bad, ugly, annoying, and frustrating.

I'm not quite sure who this post is for but I know it's for someone. We were never made to do it on our own. In Him, our weaknesses are made strong. In Him, our foolishness is cloaked in grace and crafted into wisdom. Only in Him.

Be encouraged!

UGA | The Testimony

UGA | The Testimony

UGA and I have had quite the run... four years to be exact. However, it's with great joy that I tell you all that on May 13th, 2016, we broke up in the best, amicable way possible. This is my testimony – one for the ages. I thought about posting a quick Facebook status to the effect of, "Done with UGA...Praise God" blah blah blah but the better part of me knew that wouldn't do my testimony justice. UGA has caused me to grow in ways that I didn't even know were possible. One status couldn't completely embody just how awesome my time there has been. A blog post can't capture it either but it's a close start..

Why Can't We Be Friends?

Why Can't We Be Friends?

We've all had that one friend that we don't talk to often and nothing seems to change. You see each other here and there and catch up without missing a beat. These are the ones that aren't required to text, snapchat, or FaceTime you everyday. What happens when you don't hit them up either? Nothing. Y'all are just... there...
